ImageTEXT

ImageTEXT is the Metadata entry/review Template that enforces data entry standards.   These may be the  standards for  Captioning and Keywording set by a Photo Agency, or of Heritage Archiving by a Museum.  The basic IPTC standard fields are the default structure, other configurations may be developed to order.

Nine Preview mode is available, this example shows single Preview of file being archived.  ImageTEXT's features are detailed below.

ImageTEXT Panel

Data entry is enforced with the help of vertical bars, at the side of each field, that change color according to the level of data entered.
  • RED = No data in a required field
  • ORANGE = Partial compliance
  • GREEN = Full compliance- PASS this field

Standards enforced are:
  • Mandatory Field
  • Minimum/Maximum number of Characters
  • Minimum/Maximum number of Words
  • ALL fields must be GREEN for the record to PASS
(Due to the prevalence of scientific words used in Photo Agency archiving, spell-check capabilities are not available in the default program.  User-specified dictionaries may be added upon request.)

Boxes above each field display:
  • Minimum number of Characters/Words allowed
  • Current enrty level of Characters/Words
  • Character/Word Limit

Data entered over the limit causes the GREEN bar to turn ORANGE, and produces a warning message.  If the data limit is exceeded, the overlimit data is automatically truncated.

Images being archived may be viewed individually or in groups of nine.  Templating allows rapid data entry for similars.  Because the data isn't imported into the Image File until later processing through ImageVISA, archiving of similars with identical data may take only seconds following full data entry for the first file.

When all files to be archived pass the ImageTEXT standards (all bars green), the program is closed, and ImageVISA is run on the files.  ImageVISA processes all the files according to the Agency's standards and imports ImageTEXT's data.  Output files are to the Agency's Image File and Metadata standards.  Coding only added to passing files signals the receiving Agency that the submitted files have been processed through VISA and TEXT.

Files without ALL fields GREEN will not be processed, and their failure reported.

ImageTEXT is used with ImageVISA, and is not sold separately.
