ImagePASSPORT

The ImagePASSPORT GUI Panel

ImagePASSPORT is a JavaScript, that runs inside any version of Photoshop CS, performing adjustments to Image Files and Metadata.  Original files are left as-found; adjustments are performed on duplicates.  ImagePASSPORT runs on both Mac and PC platforms.

Perform processing-runs through its easy-to-operate Panel, using selectable instruction-sets customized to your requirements. 

ImagePASSPORT is in use by businesses receiving Image Files from many sources, or that have specialized Image and Metadata processing needs.

Data both within and between fields is adjusted and formatted to your needs.  Certain types of corruption are corrected (such as run-together words exported from a database using drop-down lists).  Multiple adjustments are usually performed in any processing run.

The number and variety of adjustments are so great that a comprehensive listing of its functions is impossible.  To convey our Metadata processing's usefulness to you, we'd have to know your specific workflow and challenges.  Please feel free to contact us. 

Also, keep in mind that our adjustments can solve many data problems, but are't magic.  Sometimes ImagePASSPORT can do it all, but more often it will allow you to process Metdata in a fraction of the time now spent.

Examples of Adjustments:
  • Adjusting, scrubbing and reformatting spreadsheets sent to distributors.
  • Adjusting Metadata from a Portal Contributor to the Portal's standards.
  • Merging two or more Keyword fields, removing dupes, replacing foreign characters with English equivalents, alphebetizing the list, and capitalizing the first letter of each Keyword for easy review (capitalization can be removed in a second run).
  • Inserting specified text at the beginning, end, or at any specified point in any field.
  • Building a credit line (or any other custom configuration), in a new column, using data in the Photographer column.
  • Adding data in one column dependent on specific data in another- or data in one column dependent in specific data in two other columns (e.g. adding localized Common Name of an animal to Keywords, dependent on Scientific Name, and Country).
  • Removing specified text from anywhere in any field.


IMAGE FILE PROCESSING
ImagePASSPORT assesses all technical properties of image files, and adjusts them as directed.  (See the full properties list at the ImageAUDIT page accessed through the link at above left.)

Processing includes:
  • Setting PPI, File Format, Compression, Bit Depth, Size (with multiple independent dupe generation), etc.
  • Assigning Color Profile, as per your specifications, to unassigned files.
  • Flattening Layers.
  • Removing Extras, such as Guide-Lines and Color Sampler Points.
  • Adjustment into RGB of files in different Color Spaces, if required.
  • Batch application of Photoshop Presets to entire selection for processing.
  • Reset of Shadow/Highlight levels (5/250, for example), only to files outside this setting, if custom S/H is a Standard.
  • Much More.
